Like many women in Akola district, Sunita had never held a bank account of her own. Our self-help group program changed that — savings, stitching skills, and a support network of 40 women.
The first machine was funded through a small grant and a group loan. Today her unit takes school uniform orders from three villages, and Sunita trains new batches for us every season.
12,000+ women have been through our skill programs. Each one is a proof that independence begins with a skill and a little trust.
“Every story is a promise kept.”
