Our Journey
Rooted in Vidarbha, Growing With Every Community
The founder of Lok Kalyan Foundation grew up in the villages of Amravati, where his family's small acts of seva — a meal shared, a neighbour helped, a cow sheltered — left a lasting impression. In 2013, he turned that upbringing into a formal mission: a registered foundation devoted to the holistic upliftment of the communities that raised him.
Lok Kalyan Foundation began with a simple act: distributing school bags to children in the villages around Amravati. What started with a handful of volunteers has grown into a movement — today we serve across 14 districts of Maharashtra with programs in education, healthcare, cow welfare, women empowerment, and emergency relief.
From our gaushala in Nagpur to eye camps in Yavatmal and ration melas in Wardha, every initiative is planned with communities, executed by volunteers, and reported transparently. We believe trust is earned one honest action at a time.
Today the foundation is guided by a small trustee board, run by a growing team of paid staff and coordinators, and powered by thousands of volunteers — yet it still operates the way it did in 2013: ask the village what it needs, deliver it properly, and account for every rupee.

Milestones
Twelve Years, Step by Step
Each milestone was set by the community itself — a school that needed bags, a highway that needed a rescue van, a village that needed a clinic. We simply showed up, and kept showing up, year after year.
Every milestone is documented with records, photographs, and beneficiary counts that appear in our annual impact report — so our history is not a story we tell, but a record anyone can read.
See Where We Work2013 — The First Step
Founded in Amravati; the first drive distributes 500 school bags to village children on the first day of the academic year, in the presence of their delighted teachers.
2016 — A Home for Cows
The Nagpur gaushala opens its gates; rescued cows find shelter, medical care, and a dignified life — cared for by a dedicated team round the clock.
2019 — Women Take the Lead
Self-help groups and tailoring centres launch in Akola; more than 1,000 women are trained in the first year, many going on to employ others.
2021 — Relief in a Crisis
COVID-19 relief drives reach 25,000+ families with ration kits, oxygen support, and medical aid across the region when they needed it most.
2023 — Ten Years of Trust
A milestone year: over 5 lakh total beneficiaries, active presence in 14 districts, and 3,200 registered volunteers on the ground.
2025 — Growing Every Day
Eye camps, computer labs, and tribal outreach continue to expand across Vidarbha — and the next chapter is being written with you.
